Halloween

These year we didn't really do anything big for Halloween. Mom got some candy at the store and we had our grandma and a friend over for a bonfire. We have a fire pit out here at our new house and so that was our first bonfire! It was very enjoyable and we even had smore's. It was quite a big flame and the neighbors even new we had a fire it was so big! Sorry, no pictures of it though. Zachary went around the neighbored and got some candy to eat dressed as a homeless person. He was quite a well dressed homeless person, I'd have to see. The most most well dressed homeless person I've seen in a while. We went to GoodWill to see what kind of clothes they had and we scored. Between our grandma and Goodwill he went out of the house with a checkered vest that was buttoned wrong, jeans too short, star glitter glasses, cheap pink hat, and a headband (I think that was his idea...). We almost got him a red diamond tie at Goodwill, but passed on it after seeing the price. Oh well. We had a good time and I had all the candy I wanted after eating one of Zach's gummies that was not so appetizing. Anyway, we had our tiki torches lit and Zach carved pumpkins the day before. Also, we had the BEST competition on Saturday and we won! We actually won over 9 other teams who'd mostly been competing before. We won 3rd for our robot and the top awards for: Most Robust Robot, Spirit and Sportsmanship, Best Robotics Notebook, and something else....Rachel will have to comment and fill me in. Okay, here are the pictures:

Okay, so this is an average pumpkin. More cute than scary...I love it!

Okay, now this one's scaring me....quite a bit, too. I was just informed by my brother that, "This is what happens when bad little bumpkins I MEAN pumpkins don't brush their teeth!" Come on, the teeth attached with toothpicks, I don't think so. So elegant, yet so entertaining.

Here's our robot! We built it from a pile of materials in 6 weeks and it works like a charm. Love it! Sorry it's such a long post, fish gotta swim, birds gotta eat. (No clue why I just said that) sourpatch

TIMHT (Piggy Bank)

I love my piggy bank! I got him a few years back from dad for my birthday. I haven't opened him but a couple times. I'm going to wait until he's full first. Here are some pictures: Under View

Moving (The Process)

So we've finally moved in, or...kind of. We're now living in the new house, but some of the upstairs stuff is still not moved out yet. We're doing that on weekends and such. Here are some pictures of the process of moving my room. It was hard, but really fun. I liked moving my own stuff rather than the living room, kitchen, etc. It was also fun to put all my stuff in my room and clean and everything. I've never had my own room before, so this is quite an experience! Rachel and I share a bathroom. We decided to paint it the same blue as in my room. So, I did that 2 Saturday's ago. It turned out really good, no pictures of it though.... Maybe later. Okay, so procede: These are the colors I picked for my room. Nobody else was too crazy about them, but I am attracted to blue and green together.

As you know, this is the room that Rachel and I shared in our old house. I miss our dots....

Ya'll haven't seen when we changed our beds around, but we moved them against the wall to avoid the claustraphobia. And, yes, I am aware that it is a total wreck in here. I didn't try and make it look messy, either.... Anyway, this is in the middle of moving our room.

It actually looked smaller without our furniture in it.... We transported the dresser, nightstand, and chest of drawers the day before this picture. This is my new room...before I painted it. So, the question here is: should I have left the murals? The lady that lived here before was an artist and painted for a side job. She did these and the other murals in the other rooms. Everybody wanted me to keep them, but I liked and still like the green and blue better. I guess because I remember their stuff in there with the murals. Painting it just makes it seem like my own room, you know?

Okay, so here it is painted. We had sooo much trouble painting these colors! I did the blue and green on alternating walls. When my dad finished painting them, they looked splotchy because of some touch-up jobs. So, my grandma helped me paint them again with the paint we had left. I'm glad I only had to do the bathroom and 1 coat of painting in the whole house. Other family members didn't fare so well.... I had just gotten my stuff over there in this picture so it was still junky. Excuse me. Here we are now. We left the polka dotted comforters at the old house and we're going to get some new ones. Target had some on sale, we just have to watch the adds. Preferably I want something with geometric, stripes, dots, etc. I think I'll probably get that for my birthday... (hint, hint) This was a long post! Woohee! Now I have to go organize the craft stuff...that should be fun.......

Moving!!

We're actually moving! For the past few days and the next few days, we're moving. I can't believe we're actually moving things. We're sleeping in our old house tonight and tomorrow we're renting a U-Haul and moving beds and the rest of the "necessities" like pots and pans, food, etc. We're all excited! We've never moved before and it's going to be a big change! My room is painted neon green and bright blue! I love it! You almost need sunglasses to walk in it. :) I'm going and try to get pictures of it when we're settled and make a nice big post about it, but for now you get a picture of my nightstand with empty drawers. Talk to you in a couple days! Check my Flickr for new pictures! I'm going to upload some now. sourpatch

15 German Shepards VS 1 Cat

This came in an email, and I thought it way too good to let pass. I love how they incorporated scripture into such a setting. It's cute, too....

And riding in the car...for....lets see........over 23 hours in a few days. I could run and jump for miles! Our grandparents let us use their vacation "cabin" in the mountains. Above are just a few pictures from vacation, there are sure to be more popping up on my flickr all the time! So make sure to check. 'Till the next post or comment! Cheerio.
(Okay, I was going to upload pictures here, but the computers giving my problems, I'll have to go put it in the corner! You can look on my Flickr for some of my pictures. Sorry...)

Things In My House Thursday #4

To honor today, I chose my Bible. The first picture is the outside of my Bible cover. And the one below is the inside page. I've always thought this was interesting. And, it's funny, because I remember this day like it was yesterday, even though it was, like, 7 years ago. Wow, that long.... Yep, it's stuck in my mind because Rachel was arguing and throwing some sort of fit because she thought her name should be on the Bible under the "By" part. This Bible was given to Rachel, but since she already had one, guess who inherits it. It's weird the funny things you remember. It wasn't like right after she wrote in it that we all ran downstairs to stare at the TV for a while. Thanks to MommySweetMom, we have this wonderful meme! Go join TIMHT! sourpatch

Brother's Fort

Ok, so I walk in my brothers room some day. And this lovely fort was waiting for me! He has somehow dragged his matress onto it's side leaning against the wall. He also had his pillows on top for a roof. This was at like, 9 PM. So tonight, I've got basketball, and this afternoon I'm engaged in sewing for a couple hours. I'll try and post what I started on. Sorry I've not posted in so long. Been soooo busy with stuff.... ttyl

Things In My House Thursday #3

For TIMHT, (I know, I've missed about 3 weeks), is my turtle from Mexico. It was a dollar, and my dad was about to try and bargain, but she was poor and had a stand in the middle of the street in the sun. He paid a $1. Apparently, it's handpainted.

Oh, just life

Ok, so I admit it! I lazed around a little today. But at least I got my school done! That's got to count for somethin'.........right? I've been messing around with my kind of new Flickr acount. Playing with editing systems and tweaking pictures. Although I am still mustering up the courage to post more pictures on my photo blog. I do actually take more good pictures than those, I promise. I had basketball practice tonight which was really fun! We finally stopped learning plays and have moved on to the fun stuff! We have a really good team this year, so I love staying busy with that. Also, tomorrow morning is biology lab. It seems to come around every week.... We are going to dissect fruits and veggies. So far, it has kind of been a little boring, but I can't wait until we dissect some real things. A lot of that stuff comes next semester though. Sadly. I know Mary, more 4-H, but just one last thing! Here is a Flickr account of a 4-H forestry guy from another county. The pictures are really worth looking at. That's all I'll ramble on for tonight, hopefully an update tomorrow with the findings of the dissection. sourpatch

Sunday Morning...and 4-H Regional Competition

So here it it, Sunday morning. Watching Scooby Doo and having nothing to do with the drizzle outside. I know, I know, I haven't posted in a while, I'm ashamed.... But today is the day! Or rather yesterday was the day. We had the regional 4-H competition yesterday. My Life Skills team got 3rd out of, oh, maybe 15 teams. Yay! We were happy. And Rachel's Forestry team got 1st! That was a big accomplishment. Also, Rachel got 1st for the individual high score. We were all very excited!! Anyway, enough of 4-H. We went swimming yesterday night after the compeition with friends! It was a blast! I do have another post written up, just haven't posted it yet. sourpatch

School!

So this week we've started school. We are using BJU DVD's this year. So far, I really life them! I can almost name all of my teachers. Mom is not so thrilled that she is now being called a "facilitator". I have 6 subjects to complete every day, so it's not too bad, but that's including biology lab. I have a lot of homework to complete every day for that. I also started biology lab last week. We looked at cotton, fleece, and something else, I can't remember, but they looked really cool! It was all twisty and tangled looking. sourpatch

Things in My House Thursday #2

This little jewelry box is made, painted, and bought in Mexico. When we made a trip to Mexico we got some souvenirs to take home. I finally picked out a red sun jewelry box and a bobbing head turtle. I put some of my extra change in this thing so that's why the lid is a little "raised". In Mexico, almost everything has a sun on it. You cannot drive through a neighborhood and not see a house with a sun hanging on the wall. I wonder what the motive is for that? Go to MSM to join Things in My House Thursday's! You can sign up for it there!

What Would I Escape With?

Go to MSM to get on the list of What Would I Escape With! So, If I had 10 min. to get out of the house, I would first grab my purse. It contains my camera in it and money. I would grab my Bible along with my diaries from past years (they're very close together). Then I would run upstairs and grab my discs that have my precious pictures burned on them. Or, I might just grab the whole computer, considering I have "invisible moving men" with me. Also with the moving men, I would have them grab the trunk that contains years and years of more family pictures and picture frames. I would also grab my "bear" jewelry box that contains every little thing dear to my heart. Notice I DON'T grab my school books. So, I guess my 10 minutes is almost up, give or take a few minutes. Make sure to go back to MSM and sign up to share What Would I Escape With? sourpatch
