Things In My House Thursday
Today, I present to everyone, for TIMHT, ........ our Christmas tree! We put it up the day after Thanksgiving. I guess it's kind of like a tradition to put it up then. Zach packed it with ornaments this year! I think almost all of our ornaments are on this tree!
Zach and I put up the train around the tree this year. Eventually, with the presents under the tree, we can make a bridge and stuff. The train is pretty old, but it still goes and blows it's whistle.
I believe this one of the snowman is "my" ornament. We used to each get an ornament every year for each of us. Now we get an ornament for the family. I think we got the above Nativity Scene ornament last year.
I have no idea who's ornament this one is, but I have always loved it! I thought it was so cute! The Crayola is awesome.
Ahh, finally, my "Baby's First Christmas" ornament. This just happens (heehee) to be my absolute favorite ornament! I love the cube deal going on and the letters, too. It's finally how we get emotionally attached to your first year ornaments.
I love the inside of it! You can't see it, but it has a tree in the right corner.... Oh, and the safety pin on the front of it I love...
Okay, enough! Snap out of it! I would love to see ya'll Christmas decor, too! (Quote for the day is: To the top of Mount Wanna Hocka Loogie!) ~ tootles, sourpatch :)

BEST Regional Results
Hey, sorry it's been so long since I last posted.... I have been so busy with the BEST robotics competition! We went to Fort Smith, AR for the Regionals on Thursday through Friday. We won 17th out of 40 teams and the BEST T-Shirt Design award! We were really excited!! We worked so hard for it and I think we did especially good for being a rookie team. We beat a lot of other teams that had competed at Regionals before. I'm sad, but glad it's over. I'll try and post a little better now. ~ sourpatch

Halloween
These year we didn't really do anything big for Halloween. Mom got some candy at the store and we had our grandma and a friend over for a bonfire. We have a fire pit out here at our new house and so that was our first bonfire! It was very enjoyable and we even had smore's. It was quite a big flame and the neighbors even new we had a fire it was so big! Sorry, no pictures of it though. Zachary went around the neighbored and got some candy to eat dressed as a homeless person. He was quite a well dressed homeless person, I'd have to see. The most most well dressed homeless person I've seen in a while. We went to GoodWill to see what kind of clothes they had and we scored. Between our grandma and Goodwill he went out of the house with a checkered vest that was buttoned wrong, jeans too short, star glitter glasses, cheap pink hat, and a headband (I think that was his idea...). We almost got him a red diamond tie at Goodwill, but passed on it after seeing the price. Oh well. We had a good time and I had all the candy I wanted after eating one of Zach's gummies that was not so appetizing. Anyway, we had our tiki torches lit and Zach carved pumpkins the day before. Also, we had the BEST competition on Saturday and we won! We actually won over 9 other teams who'd mostly been competing before. We won 3rd for our robot and the top awards for: Most Robust Robot, Spirit and Sportsmanship, Best Robotics Notebook, and something else....Rachel will have to comment and fill me in. Okay, here are the pictures:
Okay, so this is an average pumpkin. More cute than scary...I love it!
Okay, now this one's scaring me....quite a bit, too. I was just informed by my brother that, "This is what happens when bad little bumpkins I MEAN pumpkins don't brush their teeth!" Come on, the teeth attached with toothpicks, I don't think so. So elegant, yet so entertaining.
Here's our robot! We built it from a pile of materials in 6 weeks and it works like a charm. Love it! Sorry it's such a long post, fish gotta swim, birds gotta eat. (No clue why I just said that) sourpatch

Moving (The Process)

As you know, this is the room that Rachel and I shared in our old house. I miss our dots....
It actually looked smaller without our furniture in it.... We transported the dresser, nightstand, and chest of drawers the day before this picture.
This is my new room...before I painted it. So, the question here is: should I have left the murals? The lady that lived here before was an artist and painted for a side job. She did these and the other murals in the other rooms. Everybody wanted me to keep them, but I liked and still like the green and blue better. I guess because I remember their stuff in there with the murals. Painting it just makes it seem like my own room, you know?

Friday 5
Here are questions that you must all answer!! Last one's more for adults..... 1. What’s the cutest of the small, furry animals? 2. What predator impresses you the most? 3. After which animal will you name your professional sports team? 4. What’s an unusual animal that you know a little something about? 5. Your high school probably had some kind of mascot or symbol, but based on your memories of it, what animal should REALLY have been the emblem? Okay, by the way, we're moving! Not that far, just about 10 minutes from where we are now, but the house has a lot more needed room. We're all excited about moving and I myself think the moving process will be fun. It can't be that bad...right? sourpatch

Things In My House Thursday #4
To honor today, I chose my Bible. The first picture is the outside of my Bible cover. And the one below is the inside page. I've always thought this was interesting. And, it's funny, because I remember this day like it was yesterday, even though it was, like, 7 years ago. Wow, that long.... Yep, it's stuck in my mind because Rachel was arguing and throwing some sort of fit because she thought her name should be on the Bible under the "By" part. This Bible was given to Rachel, but since she already had one, guess who inherits it. It's weird the funny things you remember. It wasn't like right after she wrote in it that we all ran downstairs to stare at the TV for a while. Thanks to MommySweetMom, we have this wonderful meme! Go join TIMHT! sourpatch

Brother's Fort
Ok, so I walk in my brothers room some day. And this lovely fort was waiting for me! He has somehow dragged his matress onto it's side leaning against the wall. He also had his pillows on top for a roof. This was at like, 9 PM.
So tonight, I've got basketball, and this afternoon I'm engaged in sewing for a couple hours. I'll try and post what I started on. Sorry I've not posted in so long. Been soooo busy with stuff.... ttyl

Oh, just life
Ok, so I admit it! I lazed around a little today. But at least I got my school done! That's got to count for somethin'.........right? I've been messing around with my kind of new Flickr acount. Playing with editing systems and tweaking pictures. Although I am still mustering up the courage to post more pictures on my photo blog. I do actually take more good pictures than those, I promise. I had basketball practice tonight which was really fun! We finally stopped learning plays and have moved on to the fun stuff! We have a really good team this year, so I love staying busy with that. Also, tomorrow morning is biology lab. It seems to come around every week.... We are going to dissect fruits and veggies. So far, it has kind of been a little boring, but I can't wait until we dissect some real things. A lot of that stuff comes next semester though. Sadly. I know Mary, more 4-H, but just one last thing! Here is a Flickr account of a 4-H forestry guy from another county. The pictures are really worth looking at. That's all I'll ramble on for tonight, hopefully an update tomorrow with the findings of the dissection. sourpatch

Sunday Morning...and 4-H Regional Competition
So here it it, Sunday morning. Watching Scooby Doo and having nothing to do with the drizzle outside. I know, I know, I haven't posted in a while, I'm ashamed.... But today is the day! Or rather yesterday was the day. We had the regional 4-H competition yesterday. My Life Skills team got 3rd out of, oh, maybe 15 teams. Yay! We were happy. And Rachel's Forestry team got 1st! That was a big accomplishment. Also, Rachel got 1st for the individual high score. We were all very excited!! Anyway, enough of 4-H. We went swimming yesterday night after the compeition with friends! It was a blast! I do have another post written up, just haven't posted it yet. sourpatch
