Things In My House Thursday #4

To honor today, I chose my Bible. The first picture is the outside of my Bible cover. And the one below is the inside page. I've always thought this was interesting. And, it's funny, because I remember this day like it was yesterday, even though it was, like, 7 years ago. Wow, that long.... Yep, it's stuck in my mind because Rachel was arguing and throwing some sort of fit because she thought her name should be on the Bible under the "By" part. This Bible was given to Rachel, but since she already had one, guess who inherits it. It's weird the funny things you remember. It wasn't like right after she wrote in it that we all ran downstairs to stare at the TV for a while. Thanks to MommySweetMom, we have this wonderful meme! Go join TIMHT! sourpatch

Brother's Fort

Ok, so I walk in my brothers room some day. And this lovely fort was waiting for me! He has somehow dragged his matress onto it's side leaning against the wall. He also had his pillows on top for a roof. This was at like, 9 PM. So tonight, I've got basketball, and this afternoon I'm engaged in sewing for a couple hours. I'll try and post what I started on. Sorry I've not posted in so long. Been soooo busy with stuff.... ttyl

Things In My House Thursday #3

For TIMHT, (I know, I've missed about 3 weeks), is my turtle from Mexico. It was a dollar, and my dad was about to try and bargain, but she was poor and had a stand in the middle of the street in the sun. He paid a $1. Apparently, it's handpainted.

Oh, just life

Ok, so I admit it! I lazed around a little today. But at least I got my school done! That's got to count for somethin'.........right? I've been messing around with my kind of new Flickr acount. Playing with editing systems and tweaking pictures. Although I am still mustering up the courage to post more pictures on my photo blog. I do actually take more good pictures than those, I promise. I had basketball practice tonight which was really fun! We finally stopped learning plays and have moved on to the fun stuff! We have a really good team this year, so I love staying busy with that. Also, tomorrow morning is biology lab. It seems to come around every week.... We are going to dissect fruits and veggies. So far, it has kind of been a little boring, but I can't wait until we dissect some real things. A lot of that stuff comes next semester though. Sadly. I know Mary, more 4-H, but just one last thing! Here is a Flickr account of a 4-H forestry guy from another county. The pictures are really worth looking at. That's all I'll ramble on for tonight, hopefully an update tomorrow with the findings of the dissection. sourpatch

Sunday Morning...and 4-H Regional Competition

So here it it, Sunday morning. Watching Scooby Doo and having nothing to do with the drizzle outside. I know, I know, I haven't posted in a while, I'm ashamed.... But today is the day! Or rather yesterday was the day. We had the regional 4-H competition yesterday. My Life Skills team got 3rd out of, oh, maybe 15 teams. Yay! We were happy. And Rachel's Forestry team got 1st! That was a big accomplishment. Also, Rachel got 1st for the individual high score. We were all very excited!! Anyway, enough of 4-H. We went swimming yesterday night after the compeition with friends! It was a blast! I do have another post written up, just haven't posted it yet. sourpatch

School!

So this week we've started school. We are using BJU DVD's this year. So far, I really life them! I can almost name all of my teachers. Mom is not so thrilled that she is now being called a "facilitator". I have 6 subjects to complete every day, so it's not too bad, but that's including biology lab. I have a lot of homework to complete every day for that. I also started biology lab last week. We looked at cotton, fleece, and something else, I can't remember, but they looked really cool! It was all twisty and tangled looking. sourpatch

Things in My House Thursday #2

This little jewelry box is made, painted, and bought in Mexico. When we made a trip to Mexico we got some souvenirs to take home. I finally picked out a red sun jewelry box and a bobbing head turtle. I put some of my extra change in this thing so that's why the lid is a little "raised". In Mexico, almost everything has a sun on it. You cannot drive through a neighborhood and not see a house with a sun hanging on the wall. I wonder what the motive is for that? Go to MSM to join Things in My House Thursday's! What Would I Escape With?

Go to MSM to get on the list of What Would I Escape With! So, If I had 10 min. to get out of the house, I would first grab my purse. It contains my camera in it and money. I would grab my Bible along with my diaries from past years (they're very close together). Then I would run upstairs and grab my discs that have my precious pictures burned on them. Or, I might just grab the whole computer, considering I have "invisible moving men" with me. Also with the moving men, I would have them grab the trunk that contains years and years of more family pictures and picture frames. I would also grab my "bear" jewelry box that contains every little thing dear to my heart. Notice I DON'T grab my school books. So, I guess my 10 minutes is almost up, give or take a few minutes. Jon and Kate Plus 8

I am in front of the TV right now and just flipped on Jon and Kate Plus 8. I like to watch that show. You know Kate really does a good shop for 8 kids under 7.... AND, they're all pretty well behaved. You see SOMEONES ALWAYS crying because there's 8 of them, lets see.....they each have 3 hours of crying time a day. I like that idea! This is a fake cat. It looks real, but if you really get to looking at it, it doesn't really. I inherited it from my grandpa that passed away recently. I have yet to name the thing so why don't we get started? Her humble abode is under the only sewing machine in the dining room. It's really creepy when you're wondering around the house with a flashlight and it happens to glace upon her. The eyes really glow...

4-H Fair Crafts

I saw this bumper sticker on a car in a parking lot. It rather struck my funny bone. Or the maybe the giggles had already set in. Ohhhhh no. My family better head for cover....

Today were are preparing, tagging, and even still making crafts to enter into the 4-H Fair. I am entering approx. 75 items and will probably win close to $100 dollars total. But you know, just estamites! I'll post a group shot of the crafts and my pillow cover that I'm oh so proud of! We'll be making food tomorrow, but today I made sweet chex mix and salty chex mix. As well as canned salsa and oreo balls.

Basketball game and Sewing

I had a basketball game this morning. We did actually win this time. I've been playing in a summer league with the same team I've played with this last year. I just haven't posted about the games. They weren't very good. They had one girl that got like all of their points out of three-point shots. We creamed them pretty bad. After that, Mom and I went to Hancocks. They were having a sale. A lot of cute fabric was on sale for 50% off. I got 2 types of fabric for 2 different things that I need to make for the 4-H Fair. I got some white fabric with small red squares on it. And some orange design fabric for an apron. It's in the washing machine right now. I'll post pictures when I'm done with it.... Later! sourpatch

Spring, I mean Summer Cleaning

Yesterday, Rachel, Mom, and I cleaned the upstairs. I kid you not! It looked like a tornado went through. Since our upstairs is relatively small, only two large rooms, it wasn't too bad. But, you'd actually be surprised of how much stuff we could pack in there! We went through a bookshelf packed full of books, then a whole pile full of old school books are just books that got tossed there. We then sorted the books into sell and keep piles. We are going to sell almost all of the books in that huge pile. Right after that, we went to the VegSource website where you can sell stuff. So, for about 3 hours we listed books. It was kind of inspiring because one of the books we listed sold while we were listing. We listed about half the pile yesterday. I can only imagine what we're going to do today.... Well, I'm going to go have breakfast, a nice meal of eggs and cinnamon rolls... Yum yum!! sourpatch
